Pune is a city located in the state of Maharashtra in western India. It is the second largest city in the state after the state capital, Mumbai. A pride of the Peshwas, the city was an epicentre of the Maratha Empire in the 18th century. Known as the "Queen of the Deccan", it is the cultural capital of Maharashtra.
