With constant development, West Bengal is slowly turning into the country's investment and industrial hub. Taking this into consideration, this state has a number of business schools under operations. These colleges in West Bengal offer different specialised MBA courses under its umbrella like marketing, sales, finance, human resource (HR), Information technology (IT) and many more. Most of the West Bengal MBA colleges have a National Board of Accreditation (NBA) certificate under AICTE.

Entrance Tests

To get admission into these colleges, one needs to clear the various national and state level entrance exams such as Management Aptitude Test (MAT), Common Admission Test (CAT) and Association of Indian Management Schools [AIMS] Test for Management Admissions (ATMA). Later based on the merit, the candidates are allotted the colleges either situated in the state or the country. New Delhi's All India Management Association (AIMA) conducts this entrance test. Majority of these colleges accept the MAT test scores to evaluate and place, other than IIM. IIM conducts its own entrance exams. MAT test are conducted offline. These tests take place four times a year - February, May, September and December.

To be able to apply for this entrance test, one should have completed their graduation with 50% marks from a recognised university. The SC and ST candidates need to acquire at least 45% marks for their graduation. The best part of this course is that it doesn't have an age limit.
