Located in Pragati Maidan, the Crafts Museum is replete with galleries which display the rich tradition of Indian Handicrafts. The Crafts museum has a collection of some of the rarest and delicate art and craft pieces from across the country. Beautifully decorated mud huts, beautiful woodcarvings, paper-mache, paintings, embroidery, wooden haveli etc find place at this famous New Delhi museum.

Dolls Museum

Set up in 1957, in memory of K. Shankar Pillai, the famous creator, the Dolls Museum in New Delhi is also called the Shankar's International Dolls museum. The museum has a huge collection of dolls. Currently the Dolls Museum has a collection of over 6000 types of dolls representing at least 85 countries. The dolls are arranged in various groups such as Brides of India, Dances of India, Woman and Men etc. There are two sections at this interesting New Delhi museum. One section displays dolls from Greece, Mexico, Yugoslavia, Poland, South Korea, Thailand, the United Kingdom, North and South America, former USSR, New Zealand, Australia etc. The other division displays dolls from the Asian countries like Africa, the Middle East, and India etc.


National Museum

National Museum situated on Janpath Road, is a leading storehouse of exclusive antiquities. Established in the year 1960, the museum has a beautiful collection of various things that represents the Indus Valley Civilization. Further it also has bronze and stone sculptures of the Cholas, miniature paintings from across the world, relics of the great Buddha, manuscripts, Jewellery Gallery, Gallery of applied and decorative arts, Anthropological Gallery, Maritime Heritage and many more.
