Dalip Singh Rana Biography

Dalip Singh Rana, popularly known as The Great Khali, is one of the eminent wrestlers of India. He had been an officer in the Punjab State Police: however, presently, he is signed with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). Dalip Singh Rana made his first appearance in film in The Longest Yard.

Dalip Singh Rana, also known as Giant Singh, became a professional wrestler for All Pro Wrestling in USA. He made his debut with Tony Jones in 1996 against West Side Playaz. He was introduced to New Japan Pro Wrestling by Masahiro Chono and Giant Silva. Dalip Singh suffered his first loss in 2002 at Tokyo Dome in a tag match.

He is also said to have lost in the tag matches pinned by Manabu Nakanishi and Silva respectively. However, Dalip Singh Rana signed a contract with WWE on 2nd January, 2006 and was assigned for training to the Deep South Wrestling development territory. Singh made his debut on WWE television (SmackDown!) on April 7, 2006 against The Undertaker, leaving him cold by the end of the match. After a week of the bout, Dalip Singh Rana was introduced as The Great Khali.

Furthermore, the SmackDown! Episode of 21st April, 2006 is considered to be the 'in-ring' debut of Khali. In this match The Great Khali defeated Funaki. Moreover, Punjabi Prison Match, Last Man Standing Match, WestleMania3, Judgement Day are some of the important wrestling matches that he won against some of the most prominent wrestlers of WWE.
