Ramesh Krishnan was born to one of the premier tennis players of the country, Ramanathan Krishnan. Like his father, Ramesh Krishnan toured the world winning several championships and creating a niche for himself in the sport of lawn tennis.

Ramesh made a name for himself at a very early age. Born on the 5th of June in the year 1961 in Madras, Ramesh Krishnan shot to fame and turned pro by the year 1978. In the summer of 1979, the young and talented Ramesh Krishnan won the Wimbledon Junior Championship Title. The same year he had reached the final of the Junior French Open and ended as the victor. He reached the zenith of his career in the year 1985 when he earned his career high ATP single ranking of 23.

His volleys, smashes and cross court winners reminded every one about his father Ramanathan Krishnan. Ramesh Krishnan reached the final of the Davis Cup Championship in the year 1987. Ramesh has defeated many top players like Mats Wilander during his career. He had won 8 single titles and 1 doubles title in his career. Ramesh was honored with the Padma Shri in the year 1998.
