Rohan Bopanna Biography

Rohan Bopanna was born on the 4th of March in the year 1980 to Mallika Bopanna. He ranks as one of the premier tennis players of the country, specializing on grass courts. Teamed with Sania Mirza, the mixed doubles have won several matches on court.

The right handed tennis player had Prahlad Srinath as his coach. His interest in the game was converted into his passion at an early age of 11. He has recently reached his career high singles ranking on 23rd July, 2007 when the ATP had nominated him as the 235th seeded player. On the 20th of August, 2007, Rohan Bopanna also earned his career high doubles ranking and is presently the 84 seeded player of the world. He has participated in the Davis Cup as a member of the Indian team several times. As a mixed doubles team, Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna participated in the Hopman Cup Championship of 2007 and defeated the doubles team from Croatia and Czech Republic. The team however, did not succeed in reaching the finals being defeated by the team from Spain. His present collaboration with the Pakistani tennis player, Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi has been a huge success winning the men doubles team several titles in a row.
