Indira Gandhi National Open University, also known as IGNOU was established in the year of 1985. The motto of Indira Gandhi National Open University Delhi is to provide effective as well as quality education to all the sections in the society. Indira Gandhi National Open University in Delhi is the largest open university and fifth largest university in the world.

Indira Gandhi National Open University of Delhi played an important role in the establishment of distant learning courses. IGNOU has 961 study centers spread across the country and cater to over thirteen lac of students. It is one of the significant Delhi Universities.
