According to the 2011 Census, the total population of Meghalaya is 2,964,007. Previously, the total population was 2,318,822 in the 2001 Census.
The male population is 1,492,668 and the female population is 1,471,339 from the entire population of Meghalaya. The total population growth since the last decade was 27.82 percent and the population of the state forms 0.24 percent of the entire population in India.
