Sandipan Chanda is a renowned chess player of India who became a Grandmaster in 2003. Born on August 13 in the year 1983, Sandipan Chanda originally hails from Kolkata, West Bengal and currently resides in his hometown.

The notable games of Grandmaster Sandipan Chanda include those games against Koneru and A Das in 2006, and, Tiviakov and Sadvakasov in 2007.

He has also been the practice partner of Viswanathan Anand, the two-time World Champion, on many occasions. As of the end of Semptember 2007, Sandipan Chanda has 2563 FIDE Ratings in the FIDE Rating of the World Chess Federation.
