Ravindra Jadeja is an Indian cricketer. He was born on 6th December 1988 in Jamnagar, Gujarat. He plays as a left-handed middle order batsman and bowls as a slow left-arm orthodox bowler. He represents the Saurashtra region in first-class cricket and also plays for the Chennai Super Kings team in the Indian Premier League. He recently opened a cricket theme restaurant in Rajkot and named it as "Jaddu's". The restaurant serves a range of dishes from different cuisines.
Career
In 2006 and 2008, he played for India in the Under-19 Cricket World Cup. Ravindra first class debut was in the 2006-07 Duleep Trophy in which he plays for the West Zone. He also plays for the Saurashtra region in the Ranji Trophy.
On 8th February 2009, Ravindra Jadeja made his international debut against Sri Lanka where he scored 60 runs not out but India lost that match. On 21st December 2009, he was awarded the man of the match award against Sri Lanka in which he did his best bowling getting hold of 4 wickets giving away 32 runs.
In 2012, at the age of 23, he became the 8th player and the 1st Indian player in history to score 3 first-class triple centuries in his career. His first century was against Orissa in which he scored 314 off 375 balls. His second was against Gujarat in which he scored 303 not out. His third was against Railways in which he scored 331 runs in 501 balls.
His Ranji Trophy season 2012-13 was very impressive performance where he scored two 300+ scores in 4 matches. Looking at his performance he was called to join the Indian Test team to play the 4th Test against England at Nagpur. He made his Test debut here bowling 70 overs giving 3/117.
In the second ODI of India- England series, Jadeja scored 61 runs just off 37 balls helping India reach a total of 285. He bowled an extraordinary spell of 2 wickets for 12 runs in 7 overs helping India achieve victory by 127 runs, leveling the series by 1-1. He won Man of the Match award.
