Lucky Ali Biography

Lucky Ali is an Indian celebrity - an actor and singer. He is more famous as a singer and known for his singing. Maqsood Mehmood Ali is his original name. He was born on September 19, 1958. Lucky Ali is the son of Mehmood, the famous comedian of Bollywood.

He studied at Bishop Cottons Boys School of Bangalore. Masooma was his first wife who acted in the video of his debut album Sunoh in the song O Sanam. He and Masooma has two children - Tasmia and Ta'awwuz. He later married Inaya,a Parsi girl and has a girl named Sara with her.

Lucky Ali's debut album Sunoh was an instant success and made him one of the popular names in the Indian pop scene. In 1996, he won Screen Awards and the Channel V Viewers' Choice Award in 1997 for his debut album in the category of the Best Pop Male Vocalist. For 60 weeks it was included on the MTV Asia Charts. "O SANAM", a song of the album is said to be one among the best Indian pop songs. His second album was Sifar, which couldn't reach the heights of his previous album. Aks was his third album which was accepted positively by the music lovers.

Lucky Ali is famous for his distinct style, his husky voice and the ballad style of singing. His music albums deal with themes which are very unique like the themes of freedom, loneliness, purposelessness, wanderings etc. With Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai, Lucky Ali entered the scene of Indian playback singing. He lent his voice to Hrithik Roshan, the hero of the film for the songs Na Tum Jaano Na Hum and Ek Pal Ka Jeena. He was awarded the Filmfare award for the best male playback singer for Na tum jaano na hum.

Lucky Ali has acted in few Hindi films like Kaante (2002), Trikaal (1985), Sur - The Melody of Life (2002), Kasak (2005), Hamare Tumhare (1979), Kitaab (1977) and Yehi Hai Zindagi (1997).
