The Sagar district is located in the north central region of Madhya Pradesh and lies between north latitude 23?10' to 24?27' and east longitude 78?4' to 79?21'.

Having a total area of 10,252 square kilometers and a population of 2,021,783, the district has its headquarters at the town of Sagar.
