About Bokaro
Bokaro, which is located on the southern bank of river Damodar in Jharkhand, is a beautiful city comprising a picturesque landscape. It is one of the most populous districts of Jharkhand state. The city is commonly known as the Steel City of India because of the steel plant which was established with the collaboration of the erstwhile Soviet Union. The steel plant is now a part of the Steel Authority of India (SAIL). The city is the largest producer of Steel and Iron in India. People from various parts of India come to work at the steel plant of Bokaro.
Bokaro, which is a cosmopolitan city, is surrounded by the Parshavnath hills. The city is situated in the eastern part of Jharkhand, close to West Bengal so there is an influence of Bengali culture in the city. Bokaro has a picturesque landscape, beautiful parks, and lakes. Earlier, Bokaro was a village in the jungles of Chota Nagpur; however, it expanded over the years and today is one of the top cities in India.
A well-planned city, Bokaro is home to the biggest steel plant in Asia and reputed companies like Steel Authority of India, Bharat Refractories Limited, Hindustan Steelworks Construction Limited, Damodar Valley Corporation, subsidiaries of Coal India Limited, Electrosteel Castings Limited, Bokaro Power Supply Company Pvt. Limited (BPSCL), Indian Explosive Limited, Jaypee Group, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation etc.

By Air: The nearest airport to this city is Birsa Munda Airport. Situated in Ranchi, it is 120km from Bokaro. From here, you can take public buses or taxis.
By Rail: The nearest railway station is Bokaro steel city Railway Station which is just 12 kilometres from City Centre. Major trains like Rajdhani Express and Shatabdi Express connect Delhi to this city.
By Road: Bokaro is has a good connectivity. It is connected to all major cities through National Highway 18 and National Highway 23. Private buses are also available.
