Flight operations started on August 16, 1955. The airport is operated by Airport Authorities of India. Major flight destinations from here are Mumbai and Porbunder. An airline that functions regularly here is Jet Airways. The terminal is capable of handling 200 passengers (100 for arrival and 100 for departure). Facilities available in the airport include free-of-cost baggage services, general paid canteen for foods/snacks and drinks, etc. Taxis and other conveyances are available from the airport to the nearest destinations.
